PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device configured to adjust the amount of light emitted from an exposure part according to a result detected by a light quantity detection part that detects light emitted from the exposure part, in consideration of potential unevenness on a photoreceptor, and to calculate the amount of adjustment so as to cancel an error included in the detection result, and to provide a control method thereof.SOLUTION: An image forming device stores, in advance for each of a plurality of regions on a surface of a photoreceptor, sensitivity information showing a potential change with respect to exposure light quantity and charging information showing a potential of a charged region, detects first potential of a predetermined region of the plurality of regions of the photoreceptor exposed by exposure means with first light quantity, and second potential of a predetermined region exposed by the exposure means with second light quantity different from the first light quantity, calculates, for multiple regions, the amount of light quantity adjusted by the exposure means for adjusting the exposure light quantity for multiple regions of the photoreceptor, by use of potential inclination in a predetermined region determined by the first and second potentials, the stored sensitivity information of each region and charging information, and adjusts the exposure light quantity for multiple regions according to the calculated amount of light quantity adjustment of the regions. |
