PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus with a measurement scale fixed to a carrier, where the measurement scale is kept as drift-free and temperature-stable as possible in its position thereby allowing reproducible position measurement.SOLUTION: An apparatus has a measurement scale 1 fixed to a carrier 3, where the measurement scale 1 comprises a measuring graduation 11 and is supported on the carrier 3 via spacers 4. Between the measurement scale 1 and the carrier 3 a layer 5 is arranged which holds the measurement scale 1 to adhere to the carrier 3, and the spacers 4 are movably embedded in this layer 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
