The purpose of the present invention is to provide a drive device for an observation light switching mechanism, the device enabling the size thereof to be reduced and overloading of a drive motor to be prevented. In order to achieve such purpose this drive device includes the following: a filter unit 42 in which an optical filter 32 for generating light having specific wavelength characteristics is disposed, and in which the optical filter can be disposed in a first position and a second position different from the first position; a protruding part 42x provided to the filter unit; a transmission part 43 which includes a first groove 43d that the protruding part makes contact with, which rotates about a prescribed rotation shaft 41d, and which causes the optical filter to move from the first position to the second position by causing the protruding part to move along the first groove; and a second groove 43e which is provided in the transmission part, and in a state where the optical filter has been moved to the second position, is provided along the protruding part tangent-line direction the center of which is the rotation shaft of the transmission part. |
