This thermotherapeutic device (1) for heating and treating biological tissue has: a first gripping member (112) and a second gripping member (114); a first heating element (116) provided to the first gripping member; a second heating element (118) provided to the second gripping member; a power supply unit (220) for supplying power for causing the first heating element (116) and the second heating element (118) to generate heat; and a control unit (210) for controlling the operation of the power supply unit (220). The control unit (210) switches, in the middle of treating the biological tissue, between a first mode for causing the first heating element (116) and the second heating element (118) to have the same temperature, and a second mode for causing the first heating element (116) and the second heating element (118) to have different temperatures.
