PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a submersible pump that can chop solids without letting them escape and discharge them from an impeller while reducing a load on the impeller.SOLUTION: A submersible pump comprises: a pump casing 2; an impeller 4 that sucks liquid from a central portion surrounded with vanes 18 and discharges it from a peripheral portion; and a cutter 5 fixed to the pump casing. The vanes are curved along the rotation direction of the impeller, and a first sharp cutting portion is formed at one end of each of the vanes along the rotation direction of the impeller. The cutter comprises blade portions 31 protruding from an inflow port 12 of the pump casing into an area surrounded with the vanes of the impeller, and the blade portions are separated from the vanes. In addition, a second cutting portion tilted with respect to the first cutting portion is formed at an edge of each of the blade portions. The first cutting portion and the second cutting portion catch and cut solids contained in liquid to be discharged from the impeller. |
