PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel hydroxygallium phthalocyanine crystal capable of achieving high picture quality and high stability when the crystal is used as a charge generating material of an electrophotographic photoreceptor of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: The hydroxygallium phthalocyanine crystal shows, in an X-ray diffraction spectrum using CuKα characteristic X-rays, main diffraction peaks at 6.8° and 15.4° in Bragg angles (2&thetas;±0.3°). Preferable aspects are, for example, that the crystal shows diffraction peaks at 6.8°, 7.4°, 7.7°, 15.4°, and 26.2° in the Bragg angles (2&thetas;±0.3°) and that the crystal shows the most intense diffraction peak at 6.8° in the Bragg angles (2&thetas;±0.3°). |
