A method of synthesizing an image from a light-field image of a scene. The light-field image comprises a plurality of micro-images of the scene, obtained through an array of micro-lenses. A projection mapping of micro-image pixels is defined, and associated projection parameters are selected which constrain the resulting image coordinates to be integers. In this way interpolation is not required, and the resultant image is output at reduced calculation cost. The invention also relates to an imaging device for obtaining a synthesized image from a light field image. The method might also comprise displacing the micro-lenses relative to a regular lattice. |
