522,707. Conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. Dec. 13, 1938, Nos. 36351 and 36352. Convention dates, Dec. 16, 1937 and Sept. 3, 1938. [Class 78 (i)] In drag or scraper conveyers for use in mine workings, the scoop is moved alternately in each direction along the track to convey the material from the levels to the gallery and is provided with a pivoted flap which is movable from one end of the scoop to the other and is adapted always to close its rear end. The scoop 10 comprises a trestle-like frame with closed side walls 11 connected by bridge members 14 and supported by skids 12. The flap 17, which forms the end wall, is hinged to a crossmember 16, Fig. 3, slidable along rails 15, or in slots, on the walls. The haulage cable 18 is secured to the member 16, and after pulling the flap into one of the end positions, drags the scoop along the track. In an end position the flap is locked by the engagement of latches 25 mounted on the member 16, or on the cable, with one of the bridge members. These latches are disengaged when they come into contact with the bell-crank lever 28. |
