PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control agent having toughness and improved compatibility with a thermoplastic resin, which can be easily manufactured and contains a metal compound of aromatic oxycarboxylic acid as an active ingredient which allows for rapid rising of electrification and achieves excellent electrification properties.SOLUTION: A charge control agent contains a metal compound of aromatic oxycarboxylic acid as an active ingredient which is a metal complex and/or a metal salt of at least one kind of aromatic oxycarboxylic acid represented by the following formula (1) with a metal selected from a divalent metal, a trivalent metal, and a tetravalent metal, where Rindependently represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a carboxyl group, an alkyl group, or an alkoxy group; Rrepresents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, or an alkoxy group; g and h independently represent a number of 1 to 3, and Mrepresents any one selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an ammonium atom group, and a mixture thereof. |
