The invention, a vertical contouring milling machine for making key duplicates, is related to mechanical engineering and can be used for making key duplicates from an original specimen and for restoring the original specimen using the lock core or mechanical code of the key. The vertical contouring milling machine for making key duplicates comprises a bottom platform 1 fixed immovably to the machine base 2, a top platform 3 mounted movably on the bottom platform, a clamping assembly 4 that is provided with axially arranged mechanisms 5 for clamping an original key and a blank key, and is mounted on the top platform so that it can move forward and backward, together with the top platform, in longitudinal and transverse directions along guides of a cross member 6 by means of a first lever 7 arranged on the back side of the machine, a shroud 8 mounted above the clamping unit and movable in the vertical direction by means of a second lever 9, the shroud comprising a copier assembly 10 with a copier 11 fixed in the shroud sleeve, a milling tool 12 mounted in the shroud spindle 13, and an arrester 14 designed for arresting the copier assembly. The copier assembly is provided with a mechanism for forward and reverse movement of the copier for changing centre-to-centre distance between the copier and the milling tool, and has a dial 15 graduated and connected to the copier so that as the limb is rotated by one division, the copier moves by 0.1 mm. |
