METHOD FOR OPERATING A RECOMMENDER SYSTEM AND CORRESPONDING SYSTEM

A method for operating a recommender system generating recommendations for products for a plurality of users is suggested. The system is communicatively connected with a storage and a database. The database stores property value collections of products. The storage contains an individual user profile for each user of the system. Each user profile is composed of a plurality of tolerance intervals of property values, wherein each interval describes an acceptable range of the respective property value. Then, a group of users is selected. For each property value range is identified, wherein the property values within the range are acceptable for the maximum number of users of the selected group of users. Products from the database having the property value contained in the identified range are selected. Finally graphical representations of the selected products are displayed on the display.
