[Class 142 (iii)] Relates to driving mechanism for imparting an irregular motion, enabling the loom to slow down while the shuttle is passing through the shed. In applying the invention to an existing loom the pulleys A<SP>1</SP> B<SP>1</SP> are removed from crank shaft F. A stub shaft C is fixed in a bracket D bolted to the loom frame E. An idle pulley A, a driving pulley B and a toothed eccentric wheel G are mounted on shaft C, wheels B, G being secured together. The wheel G gears with another eccentric or elliptical toothed wheel H, keyed or otherwise fixed on the shaft F. The drive from shaft F to bottom shaft J is effected by means of the existing gear wheels K, L. In another construction, applicable to new looms, the shafts F, J are connected by eccentric, elliptical &c. wheels.</p> |
