A pressure reducing valve has a housing 2 with an inlet 4 and an outlet 5. A piston 3 slidable within the housing 2 is provided with a seal 10 that opens and closes the inlet 4. The piston 3 has a hollow portion 11 opening to the outlet 5 and a plurality of fluid flow ports 12 are in communication with the hollow portion 11. A flange 15 that slides on an inner wall of the housing 2 is provided around a base end of the piston 3. An airtight chamber 17 is in communication with a hollow expansion chamber 18 defined by a recessed portion of the housing 2. The hollow expansion chamber 18 is covered by a transparent cover 19. A plug 29 in the cover 19 is removable to drain any fluid that leaks from the valve housing 2. |
