A weight apparatus comprises: a bar (31, fig 1) including a handle (33, fig 1); at least one weight disc 29 and an auxiliary weight disc 27. The handle (33) and weight discs 29 include openings 57 through which a rod 55 is slidable; when the end of rod 55 is positioned within an opening 57 of a weight disc 29 then the auxiliary weight disc 27 is locked to the bar (33) via a lock mechanism 97; when the end of rod 55 is positioned at the ends of the openings in the weight disc then the auxiliary weight disc 27 is not locked to the bar 33. The lock mechanism 97 is preferably radially extending pins activated by a cam. |
