[Classes 79 (iii) and 79 (iv)] In a motor vehicle for travelling over open country, the frame and propeller shaft are upwardly inclined forwardly of the rear axle, or of the forward axle of multiple rear axles, so as to clear ground obstructions, the raised front end of the frame carrying the engine and change speed gear. With a central tubular chassis frame member 6, the propeller shaft extends from the gear box 2 under the engine 1, through the tube to a rear axle box 7, the driver's seat 3 being in front of the engine. The front wheels 4 are carried by swinging half axles which, with a transverse supporting spring 5, are attached to a strut 12 extending forwardly and downwardly from the gear box or the forward end of the frame member.
