PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe agent for preventing and ameliorating visual function, having excellent effects for preventing and ameliorating the visual function, and to provide an oral medicine, an eye lotion and a transdermal therapeutic system containing the agent for preventing and ameliorating the visual function.SOLUTION: The agent for preventing and ameliorating the visual function includes cryptoxanthin, and preferably further contains one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of carotenoid, polyphenol and vitamins except the cryptoxanthin. As a result, the agent is effective, for example, as a preventive of the reduction of the visual function in VDT operation or the like, or the visual function-ameliorating agent after the reduction of the visual function, and can be utilized for various kinds of the oral medicine, the eye lotion, the transdermal therapeutic system and the like targeting the prevention, the amelioration or the like of the visual function, because the agent has the visual function-preventing and ameliorating effects. |
