PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mesoporous electrolyte in which both of a mesoporous structure and high acid group density can be kept and consequently high proton conductivity can be exhibited even under a non-humidified condition.SOLUTION: The mesoporous electrolyte includes: a mesoporous body which comprises silica and has meso pores; and organic sulfonate groups each modifying the inside surface of the meso pore and has 2.0-4.0 pieces/nmacid group density. The mesoporous electrolyte is obtained by subjecting a first precursor for forming a skeleton of the mesoporous body and a second precursor for modifying the inside surface of the meso pore by the organic sulfonate group to a copolycondensation reaction in the coexistence of a surfactant and a catalyst to obtain a complex in the meso pore of whose mesoporous body the surfactant is packed, performing skeleton strengthening treatment for strengthening the skeleton of the mesoporous body on the complex, and removing the surfactant from the complex. |
