Ignition element (1) for igniting fixed ammunition (4), cartridge ammunition or powder charges, comprising a shell (2) having a cut surface in vertical and parallel orientation relative to the longitudinal axis (3) of the ammunition (4) of a shape of an inverted letter U with the opening oriented toward the front end (28) of a cartridge (4); or an ignition element comprising a disc instead of the shell (2), wherein the shell (2) or the disc used instead of the shell (2) consists completely or at least partially of one or a plurality of plastic materials in the rear bottom area (5) of the shell (2). The plastic materials comprise macro-molecular organic compounds that can be produced synthetically or by modification of natural products, wherein a primary explosive material (11) is provided inside the plastic shell (2) or in immediate contact with the disc used instead of the shell (2). |
