540,626. Step-by-step conveyers. BEASLEY, H. H., and BEASLEY. FRENCH & CO., Ltd. June 20, 1940, No. 10649. [Class 78 (i)] A plurality of containers &c. 1 are pushed simultaneously and intermittently along guide bars by fingers 4 projecting upward from rods 5 given an up and down and to and fro motion in a closed path. The rods 5 are mounted in parallel location on cross shafts, the ends of which may move in rectangular cam grooves arranged one at each end of each shaft. Means for pulling the shafts along said cam guides may consist of links connecting the ends of the shafts to bent cranks rotated through gearing from a power shaft. Alternatively, the rods 5 may be connected by pitmans 26, 28 to two rotating cranks 25, 27 located respectively laterally of and beneath the rods 5. Said cranks and pitmans may be substituted by cams and spring retracted members. The guide bars along which the containers slide may be of stepped formation on top and may be hollow to be heated or cooled by fluid flowing within. The apparatus may have a drip tray located below the containers. |
