A method is provided for controlling an individual's access to potentially dangerous equipment, the method comprising the steps of, at multiple points in time, requesting the individual to do at least one of making a measurement of a content of at least one intoxicating chemical substance in at least one biological sample from the individual and answering a questionnaire provided in a measurement device, using the measurement device for performing at least one of measuring a content of at least one intoxicating chemical substance in at least one biological sample from the individual and collecting the individual's questionnaire answers, transmitting a result from at least one of the measurement and the questionnaire answers to a central server unit, and storing the result in the central server unit. The method further comprises the steps of, when the individual requests access to potentially dangerous equipment, estimating a likelihood of non-use of the intoxicating chemical substance based on at least the stored results, and if the estimated likelihood is below a predefined level requesting the individual to make a new measurement and then estimating a likelihood of non-use intoxicating chemical substance, based on a result from the new measurement combined with the stored results, and, if the estimated likelihood is above a predefined level, granting the individual access to the potentially dangerous equipment. |
