APPLICATION OF RFID LABELS

For the printing of a material (10) with an ink which is conductive or a semiconductor, a printing station (12) is deployed in-line with the other four-color printing stations (13-16). The conductive ink is applied as a printed circuit forming an antenna. After the final printing station, in the direction of travel (11), a chip is fitted (17) in-line as a passive or semi-passive or active radio frequency identity (RFID) tag, which is connected to the printed antenna. The print and the attached chip are coated with a protective varnish at a finishing station (18).
