PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen collection instrument capable of easily, highly accurately, and quantitatively collecting liquid specimen absorbed in an absorber such as a swab.SOLUTION: The specimen collection instrument comprises: a compression unit that includes a fist cylinder having a first hollow part, and a first plunger accommodated in the first hollow part, compressing an absorber for absorbing and holding a liquid specimen and extracting the liquid specimen; a quantitative determination unit that includes a second cylinder having a second hollow part, and a second plunger to be inserted into the second hollow part, and that discharges a prescribed quantity of liquid specimen having been extracted from the absorber, from the first hollow part; and a storage unit that is spatially connected to the first hollow part and the second hollow part, and stores the prescribed quantity of the liquid specimen discharged from the first hollow part. |
