An engine-start determination portion 100a, when after fuel injection and ignition, torque detected by torque detection means (an inverter 50 and a control unit 100) that detects the torque acting on a rotary shaft of the motor generator shows negative value and the absolute value thereof is a predetermined value or more, and thereafter rotational speed detected by engine rotational speed detection means (a rotational angle sensor 104) is second predetermined rotational speed or higher, set to be higher than the first predetermined rotational speed, determines that the engine 10 has started.
