PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing suppressing a processing cost of a plurality of balls 6,6, and hard to generate white tissue peeling on a rolling motion surface of each of the balls 6,6 even under a severe use condition.SOLUTION: An outer ring 3, an inner ring 5, each of the balls 6,6 are made from an alloy steel containing C:0.8 to 1.2 mass%, Si:0.1 to 0.7 mass%, Mn:0.2 to 1.2 mass%, and Cr:0.9 to 1.8 mass%. A surface hardened layer having a hardness of HRC 63 to 67 and being harder with HRC 1 or more than hardness of surface hardened layer of the outer ring 3 and the inner ring 5 is formed on each of the balls 6,6 by a carbonitriding treatment. Further a content of N is 0.05 mass% or more, the amount of retained austenite is 20 to 40 vol.% and a compressive residual stress is 500 to 900 MPa in terms of a depth position of 1% of diameter of each of the balls 6,6 from a surface of each of the balls 6,6. |
