An electrode material comprising a sintered body containing a heat-resistant element and Cr infiltrated with a highly conductive metal. A powder mixture of a heat-resistant element powder and a Cr powder is calcined beforehand to cause solid-phase diffusion of the heat-resistant element and Cr. The MoCr solid solution obtained by calcination is pulverized, and the pulverized MoCr solid solution powder is molded and sintered. The sintered body obtained by sintering is subjected to the HIP process. The highly conductive metal is disposed on the sintered body after the HIP process, and infiltrated into the sintered body by heating at a predetermined temperature. The HIP process improves the voltage withstanding performance and current interruption performance of the electrode material. |
