PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system, information terminal, display device, control method, and program that, when a content file is not normally stored due to an error during transmission, change the content file to a normal content file.SOLUTION: An information terminal 200 comprises: a creation part 214 that creates specification information that specifies a held content file 222; a transmission part 217 that transmits the specification information to a display device 300, and when receiving a response that the content file 222 corresponding to the specification information is not stored, transmits a content file 331 to the display device 300 together with the specification information; and a determination part 230 that determines whether to delete the content file 222 from the display device 300.
