摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine that can avoid any melting of a catalyst while maintaining the drivability.SOLUTION: An ECU 4 of an internal combustion engine 100 controls executing the fuel cut when the engine speed is equal to or higher than the value of executing the fuel cut by the acceleration request, and executing the correction of reducing the opening of a throttle valve 11. The correction of reducing the opening of the throttle valve 11 is set to be larger as the acceleration &thetas; of the engine speed before executing the fuel cut is larger. When the engine speed becomes lower than the engine speed of stopping the fuel cut which is the second prescribed value lower than the engine speed of executing the fuel cut from the state of the engine speed of executing the fuel cut, the fuel cut is stopped. Thereafter, while the acceleration is requested by stepping on an accelerator pedal AP, the engine speed is maintained to the value lower than the engine speed of executing the fuel cut by the correction of reducing the opening of the throttle valve 11, without executing the fuel cut again.
