摘要 An electrical system 20 for a grid-enabled electric vehicle comprises a bi-directional DC source (battery) 22, first control circuit 24, second circuit 26, electric machine 28, grid input 30 and rotor angle detection means. The electric machine includes rotor, stator, first winding 36 and second winding 38, The first control circuit is connected between the first winding and the grid and the second control circuit is connected between the second winding and the battery. The system is controlled by coupling the first control circuit to the grid, using the rotor angle detection means to determine a rotor angle representing the position of the rotor with respect to the stator and selecting one of a set of predetermined vector positions according to the rotor angle. Each vector position represents the position of the rotor with respect to the first winding. The first control circuit is operated to convert grid-supplied electrical energy into an alternating multiphase voltage waveform optimised according to the selected vector position. The voltage waveform produces an oscillating magnetic field around the first winding and the battery is charged using an alternating voltage waveform induced in the second winding through magnetic coupling between the windings.
