[Class 44] [Also in Group XI] A detachable connection suitable for supporting electric light fittings from a chain 6 consists of a short wire member 4 shaped as an equilateral triangle and having a gap 5 in its lower side adapted to be threaded through spaced holes 2, 3 in a member 1 carrying for example a spring clip 7 supporting a tubular electric lamp. The upper portion of the clip is formed with a square shoulder 8 connected by a rivet 11 passing through a hole 10 in the plate 1 to a non-circular plate 9 which after passing through is turned to bridge the hole 10. The shoulder 8 fits in the gap 5 and prevents accidental detachment of the member 4. A spacer 12 is interposed between the clip 7 and plate 9. To allow the member 4 to be threaded on the member 1 the distance between the adjacent rims of the holes is substantially equal to, and that between one rim and the nearest edge of the -member 1 is not greater than the length of the median line of the inner periphery of the member 4. |
