An image processing apparatus comprises: an acquisition unit to acquire screen information related to whether or not an operation screen accepts an input by a gesture operation; a retrieval unit to retrieve, from screen information associated with a plurality of screen configuration patterns applicable to the operation screen, the screen information which coincides with the screen information acquired by the acquisition unit; a determining unit to determine the screen configuration pattern to be applied to the operation screen, based on the screen information retrieved by the retrieval unit; and an applying unit to apply a display rule of a screen element defined by the screen configuration pattern determined by the determining unit to a display screen of the operation screen, whereby a user can easily acknowledge whether or not to be able to perform the gesture operation on the screen on which the user intends to perform an operation. |
