A patella resection assembly (10) comprises a handle (12), slide member (20) and two claw members (40,52). The slide member is movably mounted on the handle and includes two diverging arms (28,30). Inner edges (36,38) of the diverging arms contact outer edges (48,60) of the claw members so that distal movement of the slide member causes the claw members to move toward each other and close around a patella. The claw members and slide member have teeth for grasping the patella as the claw members move together. The claw members also have flat co-planar surfaces (44,56) for guiding the path of a saw blade during resection of the patella. |
