The reactor according to the invention comprises: - a vessel provided with an inner compartment; - an outer compartment provided substantially around and/or parallel to the inner compartment, and defining a chamber; - filling material arranged in the chamber to receive and support the worms; and - a feed input for providing a feed flow to the worms, a waste output, and a worm output.
