Therefore, this periphery monitoring device is, for example, equipped with: a first storage unit for storing information about the road surface in the forward direction of a vehicle having multiple wheels; a control unit for generating, from the road surface information, under-vehicle information pertaining to the region under the vehicle and including at least a portion of all of the wheels; a non-volatile second storage unit for storing the under-vehicle information when driving of the vehicle stops; and a display unit for displaying the under-vehicle information when driving of the vehicle begins. The control unit causes the display unit to display, with respect to the forward direction of the vehicle, at least under-vehicle information pertaining to an under-vehicle region extending from the rear-end part of the front wheels to the front-end part of the rear wheels, or under-vehicle information pertaining to an under-vehicle region that includes a region with which all of the wheels are in contact. |
