The client device determines its current orientation based at least in part on data provided by a sensor of the client device. The client device then determines that data currently rendered on a display of the client device is to be hidden based at least in part on the current orientation of the client device. The client device then removes the data from the display of the client device.

identifying, by a client device, a request to render data through an output component of the client device; determining, by the client device, that at least a portion of the data is protected data; determining, by the client device, that a display of the client device is facing away from a user of the client device; and reducing, by the client device, an intensity level associated with the output component of the client device, the intensity level associated with the output component of the client device being reduced to a level greater than zero.
