A protective cover, particularly for paint tins, comprising a recess 12 and a plurality of radial channels 16 extending from the centre of the recess to divide the recess floor 14 into a plurality of segments 20. Preferably, a second horizontal floor portion 24 is vertically and outwardly spaced from a first horizontal floor portion 22 to accommodate different sized tins. Preferably, the channels extend into an outer portion 26 with a planar upper surface to form notches 30 at a lower height, and the channels are deeper proximate the outer portion D2 than proximate the first floor portion. Preferably, the outer portion is square, comprising a lip, and channels intersect in the centre of the sides. Preferably, there are eight equidistant channels and the undersides form support members. Preferably, the cover is manufactured using paper pulp. Two covers at both ends protect a container mounted in the recess. |
