[Class 52 (i)] Runners for furniture &c. drawers comprise metal strips of angle, L or channel shape secured in parallel horizontal positions to the legs or bearers of a furniture frame. As shown in Fig. 1 the metal runner 1 is of L-shape and the sides 6 of the drawer run on the horizontal face and are guided laterally by the vertical face. As shown in Fig. 4 the runners 9 are of channel shape the upper flange of which may be of similar or shorter length than the lower flange and flllets 10 are positioned in the sides 11 of the drawer to engage within the channels. The front of the drawer may be extended laterally and downwardly to cover the gaps caused by the runners. The runners may have countersunk punched holes for the securing screws which may be provided one in the vertical face at the front and one in the horizontal face at the rear. |
