The present invention addresses the problem of providing a slider used for both input and output, which has good operability, does not have problems of size, power consumption, and the like, and enables an operator to acquire a lot of tactile information, and an audio player using the same. As a means for solving the problem, a slider used for both input and output is provided with: a knob (31) which an operator can operate; a drive shaft (36) to which the knob (31) is mounted such that the knob (31) becomes movable in the axial direction thereof; a vibration generator (38) which is mounted to the drive shaft (36) so as to generate vibration in the axial direction for the drive shaft (36); a position sensor (42) which detects the position of the knob (31) in the axial direction of the drive shaft (36); and a control unit (44) which, on the basis of the position of the knob (31) in the axial direction of the drive shaft (36) detected by the position sensor (42), calculates a difference between a target position and the current position of the knob (31), and controls the waveform of an actuating signal for actuating the vibration generator (38) so as to move the knob (31) to the target position. |
