PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat efficiency by suppressing heat loss. SOLUTION: This engine working machine is composed of an engine 2, a generator 3 driven by the engine 2, and an exhaust heat recovery device which recovers exhaust heat of the engine 2 by circulating heat medium. Each component is stored in a soundproof case 13. An inner space of the soundproof case 13 is vertically divided into two chambers by means of a partition wall 100. The engine 2, the generator 3, and the exhaust heat recovery device such as an exhaust heat exchanger 9 are housed in the lower chamber, while an air cleaner and an electric control device 26 are housed in the upper chamber. Fuel combusting air is supplied to the engine 2 housed in the lower chamber through the upper chamber via a pipe means penetrating the partition wall 100.
