Provided are a method and device for performing capability negotiation, and an endpoint. The method includes that: basic capability negotiation is performed via a terminal capability set message of an endpoint, wherein the endpoint is based on an ITU-T H.323 Recommandation, and used in a telepresence system; and secondary capability negotiation is performed on a telepresence feature of the endpoint in a pre-determined mode. By means of the present disclosure, the problem in the relevant art that negotiation of newly added feature parameters of the telepresence system cannot be realized when a conventional protocol is not changed is solved, and the effect of negotiating the newly added feature parameters of the telepresence system without changing the conventional protocol is further achieved. |
