PURPOSE:To provide a high speed print inspector which can accurately inspect the shift of a print subjected to superposed printing through simple measuring method without requiring standard inspection data. CONSTITUTION:Image data of a print P to be inspected are collected through a line sensor 1 and fed through an image input circuit 2 to a frame memory 3 to be stored therein. A CPU 7 determines accumulated values of concentration in x and y directions for the image data stored in the frame memory 3 and creates projection data in x and y directions. Thus created projection data are then employed in the determination of the sides, in x and y directions of a circumscribed rectangle in a region subjected to superposed printing and thus determined sides are compared with predetermined reference values thus deciding the print shift of the print to be inspected. |
