A supported wall skin system and method for use, suitable for hulls and tanks. The wall skin being a composite comprising a first layer of flexible material 2 having adhesive on at least one side, a spacer layer 3, and a second layer of flexible material 4. The system also comprising at least one support element 6 comprising a base 7 and at least one piercing member 9 extending from the base. The piercing member may be a pin and is capable of piercing at least one layer of flexible material and being engageable with a clasp 10 which can slide in a direction towards the base but resists movement away from the base. The base being attachable to the wall 1 or one of the layers of the composite material and preferably includes an adhesive layer. Also claimed is a method for use and a wall 1 having the hitherto described wall skin system. |
