摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-wavelength optical transmitter which suppresses power consumption and stably operates.SOLUTION: The optical transmitter includes: a plurality of external resonator type lasers; a plurality of ring type modulators optically connected to each of the plurality of external resonator type lasers; and a wavelength multiplexer optically connected to output of the ring type modulator. Each of the external resonator type lasers includes a semiconductor amplifier, a first ring resonator optically connected to the semiconductor amplifier, and a reflector. Each of the ring type modulators includes a modulator waveguide and a second ring resonator. Each of the external resonator type laser and the corresponding ring type modulator forms a hybrid element. In each of the hybrid elements, the first ring resonators and the second ring resonators have the same shape and/or size, but in the plurality of hybrid elements, the first ring resonators have different shapes and/or sizes.
