The printing unit (10) has guide rollers (5) for guiding the printing material (100). The guide rollers are arranged along upstream and downstream directions of an impression roller (2) respectively. A servomotor (7) associated with an actuator (8) is provided to drive the gravure cylinder (3) and the impression roller, for changing the height of the impression cylinder from operating position into maintenance position. The actuator control device is provided for balancing web tension of printing material. An independent claim is included for method for servicing rotogravure printing unit.
