PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress stratification generated during charging of a lead storage battery, maintain battery performance, facilitate manufacturing of a lead storage battery.SOLUTION: The lead storage battery has a structure in which a positive electrode 6, a negative electrode 7, and an electrolyte are encapsulated in a battery container. Between the positive electrode 6 and the negative electrode 7, a sheet-like member such as a separator 8 having a hole through which ions contained in the electrolyte penetrate is disposed. The sheet-like member is constituted of a hydrophobic resin that is a substrate and a porus hydrophilic coating layer provided on the surface of the hydrophobic resin. |
