A building ventilator with an air-to-air heat exchanger 300 conducting heat exchange between supply / fresh air 308 and exhaust / stale air 315, an air supply impeller / fan 303 and an air exhaust impeller / fan 314, wherein the exhaust impeller is located between the heat exchanger and the outlet (fig. 4, 400) of the exhaust air path to the atmosphere, preferably adjacent to both. The ventilator may further comprise a condensation trap (fig. 4, 407) below the heat exchanger to collect condensation formed thereon. The trap may comprise a well (fig. 5, 503) on the side of the ventilator towards the ambient and a trough (fig. 5, 500) on its side towards the ventilated room, both guiding condensate to the exhaust fan so that it is expelled outside thereby. The well and trough are preferably connected via a U-bend tube (fig. 5, 502) to prevent air leakage between the two air paths. The air supply fan is preferably located upstream of the heat exchanger and a heating element (fig. 7, 700) may be mounted upstream of the fan. Motorised shutters (fig. 4, 401, 403) may be provided to the ventilator ports opening out to the atmosphere. |
