PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission in which the deformation of an input disc caused by a load generated by a hydraulic loader is suppressed to the minimum while a slip of a power roller caused by the load is suppressed.SOLUTION: A hydraulic loader 27 of a toroidal type continuously variable transmission 22 includes a first oil chamber 54 and a second oil chamber 55 which generate loading pressure for suppressing a slip of a power roller 26. A hydraulic control circuit 57 connected to oil pumps 42, 46 includes: a circuit oil passage P2 which can supply hydraulic pressure to the first oil chamber 54; a second oil passage P3 which can supply hydraulic pressure to the second oil chamber 55; third oil passages P4, P5 which can supply hydraulic pressure to a hydraulic clutch 33; and a switching valve 60 interposed in the first oil chamber P2. Since the switching valve 60 is driven so as to be opened and closed according to the hydraulic pressure of the third oil passages P4, P5, the supply and the block of the hydraulic pressure to the first oil chamber 54 can be controlled with clutch hydraulic pressure for the engagement of the hydraulic clutch 33 or the release of the engagement as a control signal, the loading pressure of the hydraulic loader 27 can be controlled by simple constitution. |
