Systems and methods for creating an alternative parallel wireless link communication in addition to wireless signals for a vehicle network. Embodiments of the present invention provide a spread spectrum transmission module 130 that transmits a spread spectrum signal to a wayside equipment module 120 in which such spread spectrum signal is reflected and communicated to a transmission module 110 through an uplink communication. The uplink communication includes a first signal received from the wayside equipment module 120 and the spread spectrum signal.
