According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for controlling an energy storage device is a method of controlling charging level of the energy storage device in accordance with changes of operation frequency of the system by the energy storage system connected to the system comprising the steps of: determining whether the operation frequency of the system belongs to a dead band range corresponding to preset frequency range; determining whether a SOC level representing the charging level of the energy storage device belongs to preset maintenance range when the operation frequency of the system belongs to a dead band range; and controlling the SOC level in such a way that the SOC level belongs to the maintenance range, when the operating frequency of the system belongs to the dead band range, and the SOC level deviates preset maintenance range. The maintenance range represents a range between preset lowest limit value and preset highest value, and the step of controlling the SOC level executes different control for each case when the SOC level is lower than the lowest value, and when the SOC level is higher than the highest value. |
