An article of footwear 1 which has a plurality of temperature sensors. Preferably there is heel temperature sensor 7, a first metatarsal temperature sensor 9 and the fifth metatarsal temperature sensor 11. Preferably there is also an inner 5 and outer 3 ankle temperature sensor. There may be a temperature reference sensor 13 distanced from the foot, which may be on the lower leg. The footwear may also comprise a pressure sensor 15 and a pitch sensor 17, which may be an accelerometer. There may be an activity sensor, 19, which detects whether the footwear is in use. The footwear may be a boot or a sock. Preferably the footwear has a microprocessor 21 and a communication module 23, which may be wireless, to send the sensor data to an external computer such as a smart phone or tablet, which may be operated by a patient or physician. |
