PURPOSE:To provide the subject compound having heparanase inhibiting activity and useful as an agent for suppressing cancer metastasis. CONSTITUTION:Trachyspic acid having the following physical and chemical properties. (1) Nature, acidic fat-soluble white powder; (2) molecular formula, C20H28O9; (3) molecular weight, 412 (measured by FAB-MS); (4) elemental analysis (%), measured values, C 56.21, H 7.18, calculated values, C 58.25, H 6.79; (5) infrared absorption peaks (numax cm<-1>, measured by KBr tablet method), 3083, 2956, 2926, 2855, 2640, 1723, 1607, 1401, 1205, 1138, 1074 and 1058. |
